WELCOME STUDENTS
TO AUA LANGUAGE CENTER HUA MARK BRANCH

Why should I study English at AUA Hua Mark?

Teachers: All of our teachers are native speakers who come from many different countries including the US, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, etc. In addition to having a bachelors’ degree from a university, our teachers have received special training in teaching English as a foreign language and hold a TEFL certificate.

Curriculum: Our focus is on oral fluency and therefore a lot of time is spent in class on listening and speaking activities. However, we also incorporate reading and writing activities into your classroom experience. We offer additional support in reading through our “Student Corner” room. This is a library room where you can check out a graded reader from over 300 titles in our Oxford Bookworm series or simply read a current magazine, newspaper or comic book in English. Students can also post their writings on our “Writing Board” each term and even win a special prize.

Class Schedule: Many of our students are busy with work, school or family.
Therefore, we offer a wide selection of times and days which will be convenient for you to study. Classes run from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday and from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturdays.

What is it like in the classroom?

You will be in a class with 8-20 other students. Our average class size is about 15 students. Other students may be working, looking for a job or studying in university or senior high school. While most of our students are Thai, you may meet students from Japan, Korea, Taiwan or even Russia. AUA classes are very active. During the class period you may be sitting, standing, mingling or rushing to the whiteboard. You will often find yourself interacting with a partner, working in small groups of 3-5 students or doing a whole class activity. Every student is expected to participate in class. AUA focuses on developing oral fluency skills. This means that we work to build your confidence in speaking and listening. To achieve this goal, our teachers will provide a positive and supportive classroom environment in which students should not be afraid to speak and where you are encouraged to make mistakes and play with the language. It’s fun.
