The course as a whole

This was a really intensive and challenging course, and ultimately, a life changing experience. The trainers were always there to motivate and support us. I learned more in one month than I thought possible.

Maylyn Shishido

This is a real TESOL course. If you come into this program with the right attitude, you will walk out with real, meaningful, and useful tools that will allow you to be a successful teacher. This is a certificate you earn. You donít just get it because you paid. Itís a wonderful opportunity to grow as a teacher and as a person. Milk it for all itís worth.

Jason Gilbertson

I think that taking this course was one of the wisest decisions I have taken in my life. Being a non-native speaker of English, I got good international exposure and it definitely increased my self-confidence.

Nilay J. Soni

Well organized, good pacing, good balance, and great teachers. It was a great experience. I learned more practical knowledge in four weeds than I could have imagined.

Katy Laird

A thoroughly professional, thought-provoking, relevant, and enjoyable course, firmly grounded in real classroom teaching.

The trainers

All the trainers were patient and supportive, and their feedback was always constructive. It was direct but always delivered in a kind way.

Chris Niederberger

The instructors really made the difference for me. I genuinely liked and respected all of them, and thus wanted to learn from them. They also always made themselves available and did what they could to support us.

Anjanette Cuan

To the trainers: You are all FABULOUS!!! What a team too! Each and every one of you brought a unique and special element to this experience. Please know how much your efforts and contributions have been appreciated.

Pamela Schmoll

Throughout the course I was impressed with the trainers' thoroughness. The feedback on both essays and lessons was always helpful and clear. I was amazed at the length of the feedback as well. I appreciated the effort and commitment to making us better teachers.

Bryan Garrison

Very qualified trainers. They are enthusiastic, responsible, serious, and humorous. They are all helpful and obviously very experienced.

Post-teaching feedback sessions

There was just the right balance between praise and constructive criticism.

Kim Lampereur

The group was tremendously supportive and insightful. Very constructive feedback.

Pamela Schmoll

Great! The practice teaching feedback sessions built a bond, with everyone working cohesively as a group. Reflecting on each lesson was so important as we got to know our strengths and weaknesses, and areas to improve on.

Archna Arya

A real learning tool. It really helps us prepare for independent teaching. I got more out of this than anything else on the course.

Margaret Mahoney

These sessions were so helpful and beneficial. So many things were brought to my attention about teaching and it made me strive to do better each time.

Written reflections on lessons

Loved the essays and reflections. And the feedback was soooo good. It was thoughtful and extremely detailed.

Christina Swan

The assignments were explained clearly and well in advance. The writing process itself was absolutely vital. It showed me how much I had learned and where further improvements could be made. And the trainer feedback was phenomenal.

Evan Rae

This might just be the best part of the training. I learned lots when I had to think back on my practice teaching and summarize what had happened - both positive things and areas to work on. And the trainers always gave such supportive and encouraging feedback.

Kittipong Chiaoroongroj

The questions we answered in our essays really cut to the root of what TESOL is about. I feel like I learned a lot from the writing.

Working in groups

The whole group thing was a real challenge for me Ė but I had fun and learned a lot in the end. Bravo!

Douglas Crawford

The group gelled really quickly. I felt totally at ease with my peers and learned to trust them completely. All feedback was honest and constructive.

Nitirath Ake-Uru (Pong)

I loved the group dynamics. We shared, cared, learned from each other, improved together, and praised and criticized each other when necessary. The cohesiveness of the group is an attribute I will never forget.

Han Mei Ping

We learned a great deal from each other. We supported each other more and more as each day passed and we all became friends.

Lesson planning and teaching

I loved planning with my group and the trainers. I got ideas of different ways to teach, as well as learning all sorts of different tools and methods. Loved it!

Jason Gilbertson

I really enjoyed getting to know the students and then adapting my teaching to try to accommodate their individual needs as much as possible.

Graham Treadwell

So much guidance and help from the trainers. This eventually led me to be able to prepare a lesson plan with little or no help in the end.

The training site

A great location - a training site with trees! This is such a rarity in Bangkok. Definitely something to appreciate.

Graham Treadwell

The snack table was great, as well as the computers, Internet access, photocopying facilities, etc. And the AUA staff were all very friendly and helpful.
