Studying at AUA

Studying

— At AUA Srinakarin, as at all AUA branches, we teach the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. We include lots of conversation in all activities. We use the communicative approach to teaching English, so you'll have lots of chances to speak!

We have 17 different levels of English here. That means you will be in a class where the other students' ability in English is just like yours. And everybody cooperates and helps each other to practice their English.

AUA Srinakarin has about 13 teachers from all corners of the English speaking world, including America, Canada, England, Australia and more. They are very friendly and want to help you learn English.

Most of our students are between the ages of 20 and 30, but we have high school students and older students, too. There is probably some one here who is quite like you.

All lessons are in modern, well-lit classrooms. The rooms are air-conditioned, and have CD players and white-boards. Television, VCD and DVD players, together with a Digital Video camera are also used to support each student's learning experience. Each classroom is carpeted, some have traditional desks, while others have comfortable padded chairs around tables to encourage student participation in discussions and conversations, and also to support each others learning.

We have a small library adapted to match the various AUA levels available for students to borrow books from once they get their AUA identity card in week three of each term. Copies of Student Weekly are available for you to read while you wait for your lesson.

Students who attend every day of their 30 hours course (one term) can expect to receive a 'Perfect Attendance' certificate from the class teacher. Be sure you are on time everyday!
