If hired,
To work at AUA, teachers must have a Non-Immigrant 'B' or 'O' visa. Therefore, new teachers who have tourist visas will need to leave the country to acquire Non-Immigrant visas. AUA provides a letter to support the visa application which is made at a Thai embassy or consulate. Convenient destinations include Penang (Malaysia), Vientiene (Laos), Singapore, Phnom Phen (Cambodia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) etc.
AUA processes the application for a teachers license, work permit and 1 year visa. The work permit and visa are renewed annually, making it unnecessary for the teacher to leave the country on visa runs. Upon completing two years of teaching, work permit costs are repaid to teacher.
