The Basics of Writing – NEW in 2010
This is a great course if you want to focus on grammar and sentence structure. It teaches basic sentence patterns and verb tenses in English, in activities that are easy to understand. Requires a Placement Test score of Level 5 or completion of Level 4.
General Writing
The program focuses on writing paragraphs and essays for different purposes. Requires a Placement Test score of Level 7 or completion of Regular Course Level 6. After registering in the Program students take the Writing Placement Test free of charge.
Interactive Listening
This course is a fun and interesting way to develop listening skills for any situation. Requires a Placement Test score between Levels 9 - 13 or completion of Levels 8 - 12.
General Business English
General Business English is a course for lower level students interested in or working in a business environment. Requires a Placement Test score between Levels 5 - 9 or completion of Regular Course Levels 4 - 8. Students above Level 8 may not take this course.
Reading
This course is designed to help students develop reading, vocabulary and critical thinking skills. Book 1(Levels 1 – 3): Requires a Placement Test score between Levels 9 - 13 or completion of Regular Course Levels 8 - 11. Book 2 (Levels 4 – 6): Requires a Placement Test score of Level 13 or successful completion of Regular Course Level 12.
Natural English
Natural English is a fun way to learn general conversational English, using cartoons, jokes, short readings and classroom conversations. Requires a Placement Test score of Level 9 or completion of Regular Course Level 8.
The tuition fee for Special Courses is the same as for the Regular Program:
