TOEIC SUCCESS

The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) tests workplace communication and is used by companies and schools as an indication of your ability to use English in the workplace. TOEIC Success will help you to improve your listening and reading comprehension skills, develop your test-taking strategies, and provide you with TOEIC test-taking tips.

Course Objectives

  • Develop reading tactics such as skimming and scanning
  • Develop listening tactics such as listening for key words, making inferences, and identifying main ideas
  • Develop test taking tactics that will:
    • help students to pace themselves while completing different tasks in a test
    • develop question-analysis skills to help students understand what tests are asking and then finding the answer in listening and reading passages

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course students will be able to…
  • score higher on the TOEIC test.
  • demonstrate better pacing and question-analysis and test-attack skills.
  • employ tactics that will help them make connections between what they have learned in class and their experiences in the English-speaking world outside class.

  • 2 Parts (30 hours per part)
  • 6-week course (30 hours)
  • 2.5-hour sessions, 2 days a week

IELTS SUCCESS

Course Description

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) tests academic and general language skillsIELTS Success prepares students for all sections of the IELTS test with a student-centered, communicative approach combined with practice tests. In addition to test preparation, the units covered in the course prepare students for life in a university environment.

Course Objectives

The TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language, internet based test) tests English used in academic settingsTOEFL iBT Success will help you to improve your listening and reading comprehension skills, develop your test taking strategies, and provide you with TOEFL iBT test-taking tips.

  • Develop listening tactics such as listening for key words, making inferences, and identifying main ideas

OET  (Occupational English Test) is a healthcare-specific English language test.
