Access AUA CR and CM Closing Ceremony – March 3-4, 2021

Access Micro scholarship Program, sponsored by the US Department of State Closing Ceremony – March 3-4, 2021
On March 3 and 4, Access students, teachers, family members and invited guests celebrated the successful completion of Access programs at AUA Chiang Rai and AUA Chiang Mai, Thailand. These programs, which ran for two years, began in January 2019. During the course of their studies in the Access program students studied English, as well as participated in personal development activities and programs to learn more about American culture and values. The Consulate General Chiang Mai has actively engaged with these students across the course of their programs, a concrete example of the U.S. commitment to helping Thai youth develop through educational opportunities. Not only will the increased ability to speak English strengthen cultural ties between our two countries, but the focus on personal development and civic engagement will contribute to the development of the next generation of Thai leaders. The guest of honor at the closing ceremony in Chiang Mai on March 4 was Consul General Sean O’Neill who shared his own and his family’s experience with learning foreign languages and the richness that brought to their lives. On March 3 in Chiang Rai, the Political/Economic/Public Diplomacy Chief at the Consulate General, Chiang Mai, Vi Jacobs-Nhan gave congratulatory remarks to the attendees and officiated the distribution of certificates
